Green Springs Gifts offers a wide selection of all-natural, handmade gift items, to treat yourself or your loved ones! Almost all of our products feature naturally-homegrown vegetables, fruits, herbs, & flowers, produced at our home -- which we lovingly called the “Fixettwell Farmlet”.
Who are we?
Bea & Chris, a married team since 9/10/11
Chris:
This whole business thing is Bea's idea -- I'm just along for the ride!
Bea:
I've worked on several small organic family farms over the years and have grown my own vegetables in either a farm or garden setting for the past decade. I've also been canning for almost as long, and I hold both ServeSafe and Better Process Control School's Acidified Food Handlers' licenses.
In 2013, I finally got sick of the bureaucracy of trying to grow food in Washington, DC -- that November we picked a spot on a map and moved to two acres in western Louisa County. Our little "farmlet" is enough to provide for most of our needs and produce a surplus, and we hope you'll enjoy the fruits of our labor in the form of our small-batch home-canned goodies!
I've also been dyeing silk scarves naturally from plants I've grown, pressing flowers for various crafts, creating dried homegrown herb spice and tea blends, herb sachets, and combining various products into personalized gift baskets.
Chris may be bashful about his role in Green Springs Gifts, but I certainly couldn't do everything without his unparalleled assistance!
Our craft items are regularly listed for sale on Etsy and our canned goods are for sale at farmer's markets or for local pickup from our home -- please get in touch for details!
Our property also contains an historic general store building (now decommissioned) whose restoration as a community-based artisanal trading post and workshop-hosting space is a potential long-range in-the-back-of-my-head plan, but for now it just serves as Green Springs Gifts’ studio space and its front porch hosts our small seasonal self-serve farmstand.
We hope you'll like what you see and that you'll stop by to visit our booth at market soon!
